Cycle between three national parks

Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella, Dovre and Rondane

The Tour de Dovre is described as one of Norway’s most beautiful bike rides.

The entire Tour de Dovre is a ‘Dovrefjell round-trip’, between three national parks. We guarantee fantastic views and experiences!

The route can be completed with as many overnight stays and detours as you want. You can adjust the length of the day stages, and even get an e-bike to help you along the way.

We have examples of different route lengths with corresponding prices, and especially recommend the Grand Tour de Dovre – where visitors get the maximum out of experiences along the route!

Musk oxen are the beasts of Dovrefjell – a pleasant giant if you keep at a respectful distance. Local guides can provide you with a fantastic wildlife experience in the high mountains!

The Tour de Dovre runs through idyllic Grimsdalen valley. In autumn, visitors can experience the wonderfully colored high mountains. Summer offers a bustling life of grazing animals.

Grimsdalen valley has many nature trails where you can get better acquainted with the area. The Grimsa river meanders through the valley and tempts visitors with great fishing opportunities or even a fresh mountain dip!

Dovre is conveniently located between four national parks; Reinheimen, Dovrefjell Sunndalsfjella and Rondane. Along the Tour de Dovre, visitors cycle between three of these, and also get some good views into Reinheimen.

The national parks are home to a lot of great nature and diverse wildlife. From the saddle of your bike, your senses are exposed to the wonderful natural surroundings.

Between Dombås and Dovre, you cycle along quiet county roads and through our beautiful cultural landscape. A fantastic contrast to the high mountains and peaks when cycling past Hjerkinn and through Grimsdalen valley.

Our hosts are here for you! When you arrive after a long day on your bike, we promise to serve fantastic food and quenching beverages. Several establishments serve local food, such as plump mountain fish, moose from Dovrefjell or cheese made in Dovre.

There is a lot to experience along the Tour de Dovre, whether it be in the evening or when taking a break from the saddle. Local short trips and nature trails, musk ox safaris, Avdemsbue, wildlife safaris, horseback riding and much more! Feel free to ask us for advice on where to go.

The Tour de Dovre can be completed in three or more days. Here is an example of what a trip would cost including accommodation and food.

We tailor the trip according to your wishes and needs, feel free to contact us for a non-binding chat. We know Dovre, and we know the experiences that are worth seeing on the trip!
